This necklace is crafted from 14k yellow gold plating over a brass base metal. Size is 16" with a 2" extension.

While the plating is designed to look luminous and beautiful, daily friction, sweat, water, and exposure to personal care products will inevitably cause the thin gold layer to wear down. Once the gold plating thins, the underlying brass reacts with moisture and skin oils, leading to tarnish, a brownish tint, or dark discoloration. To ensure a long life of your necklace, please take special care to not wear it in water. It is best to keep it away from detergents, soaps, perfumes, makeup, etc. Gently buff it with a soft cloth after each use and store it in a dry location, such as a jewelry box or closed area.
